this has probably been mentioned elsewhere, but...

...isn't it a nice bit of symmetry that Liverpool did to Chelsea last night exactly what Chelsea did to Arsenal the year before?

In both cases, one team has proved themselves to be head and shoulders above every other team in the country that season - and so feel like they ought to be the country's representative in the Big Cup final.

But then they get a bit knackered at the end of the season, and get knocked out of the 'Champions' League by a premiership also-ran - and finish the season feeling deflated, despite having walked the league.

Sometimes football does deliver justice. Just in unpredictable ways.
