Two questions I could do with answers to if anyone has the wherewithal.

Years ago you needed a dog licence if you wanted a dog. What was it actually for and what was the fee used for?

Secondly, in the 70's all dads used to shout "blast the hell" or "hellfire!" instead of doing a proper swear. Was this a predominantly Norfolk thing? I've just realised that I have heard neither of these profanities since I was a child, ergo a considerable time ago.
