well it doesn't quite work like that...

One of our clients - a big pet store - used to pay us ?4000 a month for 15 hours SEO. They weren't looking to be top for their name - that will always happen naturally. They wanted to be on the front page for terms like "cheap dog food" and "cheap cat food".
So consider that every pet shop in the world with an online precense would also like a page one listing for those terms - basically a licence to print money if you are - and it becomes a more complicated game.
