Then subscribed to the entertainment package to find out that they can't show everything that is on that channel live at that time, e.g Simpson's on Sky One - So paying for a blank screen

So stopped the subscription, but I'd bought it through quidco so didn't lose any money on it.

As for your questions I don't think so, just need to have a sky account I believe, which can be opened for free, however I find you are constantly e-mailed by them.
