I don't disagree with that

Equally, him being caught smiling on CCTV while on the phone was odd.

Nothing that amounts to any evidence of murder though.

Maybe if the trial had gone ahead he might have had the chance to explain and clear his name. I don't think he ever truly will now.

On the other hand, him going on trial might have just made him look stranger and not helped at all!
