I'm not sure. I'm not sure deference to the family's wishes should be an unexamined default. Like it or not, their poor daughter's murder was already a public event, long before Koenig started broadcasting.
So yeah, problematic ethics. But not binary. One simply cannot point at it and say "wrong."
But accusations of white privilege and lazy stereotyping? No, doesn't wash. As far as I can see they've been beyond-the-call-of-duty careful to guard against that.
