Fair, reasonable, scarcely supportive of Adams at all really, and highlighting the further risks/unknown quantity Phelan would represent as manager too.
On his point about Neil Adams' 'courage' though - when a number of key players immediately fell out with Adams late last season, the writing was already on the wall for me. By and large, those players respected Hughton - but not Adams, because well, what can he do for them? Nothing.
And you can say "the players are a bunch of pampered spoiled good-for-nothing brats" if you like - but it's the world we live in now. No respect = no chance - and I think a good number of our players never really respected Adams to begin with. In terms of the level we're operating at, I honestly can't blame them: what I'll never, ever understand is how the board just completely overlooked this.
Dennis is of course right about it getting harder if we stay down too. A lot harder in all likelihood.
