helpful in terms of recruiting a new manager. Adams role is essentially toothless if he has no control over transfers and other technical matters. In Adams and Martin we have two individuals who are no doubt hugely grateful for the jobs they have been handed and thus possibly unlikely to ever rock the boat. If the "football board" is collectively responsible for transfers then presumably Adams does not actually have the final say and can be out voted.
Martin's rise within the club has been meteoric as well. I have no idea if he is worthy of his now lofty position or not but back in the summer it seems liked he was a shoe-in for the technical director role from the start.
