If we are to accept that appointing the former youth team manager was a mistake because of his lack of first team management experience, that's fine.
However, Phelan spent many seasons at the very heart of the dressing room at one of the most successful clubs in the world.
He could not have had a better grounding. There is no person alive, who has yet to manage a club, who could be more ready to take on a managerial job.
If you want to eviscerate the Board for appointing Adams then fine, but don't apply the same logic to Phelan because it's bollocks.
