"You can't blame Adams for taking the job"

Sorry - what?

You know what really singles out successful leaders across all fields? Self-awareness. Ability to reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses, learn from their mistakes, continually review everything they are doing... and in the first place, have at least some sense of whether they're up to being a manager in a position very much in the public spotlight or not.

Neil Adams is a coach, not a manager. With any degree of self-awareness at all, he should've known this before taking the job. Why else did he think no-one had offered him a managerial job before we did?

Don't get me wrong: the ultimate responsibility lies with the board. But sod this not holding him responsible. He IS responsible. He's the manager.
