It's trendy to pretend you don't like or use technology

In the past, people used to say "I don't have a tv, I don't need one", and this would shock people as there's not a lot else to do without spending money socialising

Because it was quite a trendy brag, as soon as the net became more media mainstream, you suddenly heard more and more people using this brag like it was a badge of credibility

The rest of us just looked blankly at them and thought "yeah but you either download your tv, watch youtube, or use lovefilm/netflix, it's not the same"
