Aggressive, deliberate racism designed to offend and some silly old boy making politically incorrect statements that are in all honesty not atypical of his generation. It's not like what he said was actually really offensive. I work in a corridor with several Jewish guys and none of them take the slightest offence at hearing someone say Jews like money. Whelan may have been misguided but there is a big difference between malicious or offensive racism and what he said.
The Malky texts were much worse because they were very clearly derogatory towards those they were aimed at.
