The problem with only ever being negative...

...is that in football eventually you will end up being proved correct. It's the easy option.

When you leap into a crowd of your fellow fans in celebratory mood and your contribution is 'well, actually, it was a load of rubbish and I don't get why you're so happy' and then - a season and a half later - you point to this as some kind of divine insight us mere humans weren't privy to...well, it means very little.

There's no risk in negativity, particularly when you only pop up to spout it at the most opportune moments. For all the bluster about 'engaging in debate', bigfeller clearly isn't interested in it. That's why he'll vanish for now and only reappear after our next poor result, or next disappointing player sale. It's easy.
