Fashanu never actually played for Nigeria - he opted to play for England ...

... only won 2 caps and then tried to put himself up as Mr. Nigerian Football. Needless to say, he's rather less than a hero over there.

I saw an article explaining why he wasn't liked in Nigeria once but I can't find it now.
