My feeling is..

the Board thought the squad was so strong they could carry a Rookie Manager. The appointment of Phelan is clearly an admission that they were wrong but Lambert apart, we never get it right and more often than not supporting our Club turns into a fairly unpleasant, frustrating, soul destroying experience. Sadly this imo is down to our majority Share Holders. Now I'm off for a bowl of Cornflakes!
