Despite FIFA's continual orchestration of this utter shambles... their utter shambles...

I would like to think this is the start of bringing the organisation down.

However, there remains no appetite from within to change... and listening to journos from France and Germany on 5 Live this week, there's certainly little appetite for change from many other national FA's. There appears to be a shrug of the shoulders and a reluctant acceptance that this is the way it has to be.

The scandals involving the old IOC, the outrage that ensued and brought about reform, shows that self-governing bodies are capable of being forced to change... BUT that was in a different era when the sense of fair-play, honesty and transparency in life was much stronger. People actually held morals and values.

As always the non-for-profit FIFA that has billions swishing about in its bank accounts will just shut up shop and ride out the storm.

I think we can only hope that major commercial partners withdraw their support for FIFA. That said, suggestions are that whilst Emirates are not renewing their sponsorship, Qatar Airways are poised to jump into their place.

What a surprise.
