Ouch.

I'm not squeamish but there's something about a broken bone piercing the skin that's quite disturbing. Saw it happen on a football pitch a few feet away from me once. It was under his sock, but I didn't roll it down to have a look.

(Which wouldn't have been the right thing to do unless you're a paramedic and have morphine, which I'm not and didn't.)
