Right, so zero spoilerage here, but at the start of Ep8 she says that in

a future episode they're going to examine Jay's plea bargain with the state. The bargain is basically, he pleaded guilty to accessory to 1st degree murder and testified against Adnan in return for no jail time.

And episode 7 is just terrific. They do *exactly* what I wanted them to do right from the start. But I'll let you find that out for yourself.
