No, I would have felt OK about doing it, and I'm no Tommy wotsisname. It's a standalone

device, with standard format pipe connectors, and an electric plug that comes terminated with a standard 13A plug (so you need a socket nearby). The only difficult thing is fitting and connecting it up if it's inside a kitchen base unit, but nothing that a bit of swearing won't fix.
