but surely they have made good signings

because they have a clear identity and generally know which players will fit in and do well. I doubt they would ever sign some target man with low technical ability, or a defender that could only hoof out from the back.

Our signings this season don't really seem to fit in with the rest of the squad - they don't seem to have been signed with much of a plan in mind.
