January true test

we've done very well these last 4 games but how will we perform when ashton and safri leave in january. Fortunately there are a couple of cup games but we need to keep momentum.

It seems like Ashton will go, but don't expect us to get a decent replacement in - it didn;t happen when we sold sutton or bellars, it won;t happen now.

Safri going is a major concern, we haven;t won without him since he joined the club! Hopefully he'll return fit and well reafdy for february.

I can;t see a possible replacement for Ashton even if the board allocate 2-3m to spend. He is class and genuinely worth ?8m. I guess we'll end up with someone like earnshaw or rasiak who aren;t really in the same league but would do half a job in the championship.

Still - far better situation than a couple of weeks ago - we're looking upwards now!
