All PL would need to do is win a couple of games quickly, and all the doubts would just vanish. At Villa, the major problem has been how many cuts they've made, and their utterly rudderless state off the pitch: no-one could succeed in an environment like that.
A 'big club' spending less and less and in a total state off the pitch is any manager's worst nightmare - because its expectations are impossible to meet, and you just get the blame for it regardless.
As for Walker's second spell: no-one could've succeeded in that environment either. Specifically: where we were cutting like hell, barely able to afford a loan signing, and were reaping the consequences of Chase's final years. Compare that with our financial position now.
