It was stated at the time, that the thing that made it difficult getting rid of Hughton, was because of how broad his role/responsibility was and that was also blamed as part of the reason for his failure.

Mcnally/Bowkett stated that they wanted the manager to focus on the first team football, and they'd get other people to fill the roles that came under the previous manager's remit. This included the FAB and that this was definitely the way forward for modern teams to be successful - words to this effect.

So, they just scrapped all this ^ ?
