Is Harry Kane better than Alexis Sanchez?

"Kane: So Able
There's some wonderful obfuscation going on around Harry Kane right now as the media pounce upon a young striker who is a) English, b) not Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado and c) playing for a club that garners out-of-proportion coverage purely on the grounds of geography.

So an interview with a footballer who has started zero Premier League games this season is given a double-page spread in the Daily Mail. Of course.

We will hand you over to Matt Barlow: 'Hitting the target has never really been a problem. This is a young player who scored 22 goals in 32 appearances for Tottenham's Under 18 team. He scored 10 in 16 for the Under 21s.'

Yes and this is also a young player who scored five goals in 18 games in League One for Leyton Orient, no goals in three Premier League games for Norwich City, two goals in 13 appearances in the Championship for Leicester City and whose current Premier League record for Tottenham boasts Games: 17 Goals: 4. He clearly has had a problem hitting the target.

The Mail even produce a little table that shows him above Graziano Pelle, Alexis Sanchez and Saido Berahino in a list of 'top Premier League strikers' because he has scored nine goals in 13 games.

The opposition for Alexis Sanchez's goals: Besiktas, Leicester City, Manchester City, Southampton, Galatasaray, Hull, Sunderland (2), Burnley (2), Anderlecht.

The opposition for Harry Kane's goals: AEL Limassol (2), Nottingham Forest, Besiktas, Asteras Tripolis (3), Brighton, Aston Villa.

But by the flag of St George, Kane is definitely better."
