Our entire approach just seems naive

Adams reeks out a few sound bites about how we will always attack because he, more than most, is acutely aware of what the fans like to hear especially after Hughton. We've got good enough players to semi get away with that a lot of the time but those little extra details that can make the difference seem to be lacking.

Hughton went too far in that he was obsessed with dealing with the strengths of the opposition rather than causing them problems but Adams seems to be at the other extreme. There is no real sign that we plan to deal with the main opposition threats (for example wolves are strong down the flanks and we played a diamond) or that the defence is well drilled or that we keep our shape or that we focus on set pieces. I think both Adams and to an extent the players just think they can turn up and their extra quality will shine through. Sometimes that will be the case but when you keep conceding sloppy goals it changes matches.

If we are to persist with this ridiculous experiment of Adams as manager then he needs to go back to basics. Get the defence and the platform right and with the players we have the goals will come.

In particular Martin back to RB, Whit to the bench and Turner back to right sided CB with a specialist CB alongside and Tettey or O'Neill told to sit in front of them at all times.
