I think it is harsh to call it a poor start

we're 4 points off the top of the league and are in the best position of the three relegated clubs.

We're on a poor run of form, but we were on a very good run of form before that.

Appointing another manager after three months, when you are in a reasonable position in the league and have won nearly half your games is what basket-case clubs do.
