On a cold Tuesday night just over 24 years ago, I watched us play away at Middlesbrough.

I was expecting a win, us being First Division & Middlesbrough being Second Division.

It was a rather depressing night all told. Cold, grey Middlesbrough, a lacklusture City performance resulting in a 2-0 defeat, there certainly wasn't anything to shout about.

I do recall Trevor Putney coming on as a sub for Middlesbrough and Bernie Slaven scoring for them.

We just didn't turn up really.
