Tech help/advice please Wrathers

Daughters laptop has finally given up the ghost. Now have to replace it with something upto about ?200 for the two years of A levels before new laptop for Uni. What do wrathers recommend? 16yr old not into gaming, social media of course, google, iplayer and insists it has to have office or equivelant. As you can tell I'm a complete technophobe and wouldn't know where to start so you all advice greatly appreciated.
