I still don't get why players do it - what's the f***ing point?

The most hilarious argument is the "how dare the officials ban players from celebrating" one. I can remember the 70s and 80s - players were able to celebrate just fine without once taking their shirt off. It is totally pointless - and now so ubiquitous that it isn't even dramatic. You almost expect players to do it.
