I see scrolling through that there was a stream so no detailed match report required.
First half was pretty dreadful. They were on top for the first 10, us the next 10 then a drab affair played out in midfield. We were at the opposite end but it did appear that Grabban was totally unmarked, in the middle of goal no more than 10yds out. Was it as easy a chance as it seemed? How did he miss?!
Before the match I was very downhearted with the team selection. No Redmond and/or Murphy from the off I think was a big mistake.
Was looking forward to seeing VOO. There were some nice touches but he was largely off the pace. He looked better when he drifted off to the left hand side rather than struggling at the tip of the diamond.
Bradley Johnson should not play left midfield again (as part of a diamond or otherwise).
I thought Gary O'Neil was excellent when he came on, both out wide and in the middle. Always available, composed on the ball, good distribution and also surprisingly effective running forward with the ball. Looking forward to seeing him more.
Howson was a lot better once VOO went off and he could move to a more advanced position.
Redmond coming on gave us the width we were crying out for. Thought his shot when he cut in on to his left foot was going in but alas a great save!
Overall second half we still weren't great but created plenty enough chances to win it. Really don't know how we didn't score. Jerome had a chance, like Grabban in the 1st half, where it looked impossible to miss! A very frustrating all-in-all, they seem short of a bit of confidence at the mo.
I agree with AB that the fans were particularly whiney today. I recognise your Holloway description, think he was a few rows behind me. The oldies around me seemed to be more interested in "Holty" scoring for Huddersfield than cheering on Norwich.
Not too downhearted. Think we'll still be up challenging for the title this season. A good run is around the corner......
Team for Bolton (4-2-3-1):
Ruddy, Martin, Hoover, Turner, Olsson, Tettey, O'Neil, Redmond, Howson, Murphy, Jerome.
