When we beat Brentford we had a run of home games coming up Brum, Charlton, Rotherham, Leeds plus Blackpool away which meant that we should have opened up a bit of daylight from a few other teams at the top of the table.
Instead we have completely f**ked it up and now even the likes of cardiff are only 3 points behind us. Its turning into a bunfight for the top 6 between about 12 teams when we had the opportunity and have the ability to give ourselves some breathing space. Getting out of this league is all about momentum and seizing the moment when it arrives. I think may of us fear we have failed to do that over the last few weeks and whilst we can of course still get promoted its frustrating that we are making it so much harder for ourselves than it could be.
Derby are a bang average side but they have an experienced manager, they win virtually all of their home games and they are capable of picking up results on the road. That is a formula for promotion. We are currently making ourselves reliant on winning away which is a high risk scenario because we have away games at Shef Weds, Middlesbrough, Forest and Derby in the next few weeks and they are all going to be tough.
