When we signed that candles lad wasn't it meant to be for the first team & not the U21s?

I know he's young, but I am sure that is what was said at the time.

Not unless he isn't good enough or ready for 1st team football. Was that another mis-judgement? or Was it purely something we said to the lad so that he would sign.

Not suggesting this is in any way similar to the Vadis situation, & there is obviously still a lot of time for this lad to make the grade. Even in Scotland, you don't get so many first team games under your belt at such a young age if you are no good.
