I'm not proud as I've opened a Daily Heil link but...

...when my mum was told she had maximum 2 weeks left , my dad told my brothers and me.

We were all ready to mobilise and travel to to France to say goodbye, but were told in no uncertain terms not to as she didn't want our last memories of her to be in the state she was (for her benefit and ours), she would refuse to see us.

It hurt like hell not saying goodbye, but all it took was a phone call and an explanation. That's what the woman should have done.
