How often does a person think 'I won't vote for X party, they'll never win'?
Used to happen with the Lib Dems a lot before they started winning seats, then they built up momentum and are now in power.
UKIP winning a seat is worth thousands and thousands of canvassers knocking on doors. It's priceless for them and will win them lots of votes from people who will realise that, actually, they do have a chance of winning seats. 600-odd shy of taking a labour seat! That's massive news. You can't ignore or underestimate that.
