I think you may have a case for unfair dismissal as there is a legal process which must be followed before anyone can be made redundant.
They must warn of redundancies to everyone.
They must warn potential people who are at risk of redundancy.
They must also go through a selection process (which can be based on saving money).
The fact that this email exists means that they have decided who is going before they do the process which is illegal.
If you have home insurance you should have free legal cove, I used this when a similar thing happened to me and got a much better payoff as they were scaed I would take them to a tribunal.
Also if they say ok we wont get rid of you and you want to go anyway then you can do them for constructive dismissal.
