I'd be surprised if I could work that into an essay on Heppenstall and the nouveau roman.

Norwich City will get a mention though - Heppenstall wrote a novel called 'Two Moons' set in 1972 - there's a line that reads:

?Before Tony Pawson?s eyes, on the other hand, Norwich confirmed their First Division quality by taking Arsenal in their stride?.

The novel is appalling though - just a weird succession of arbitrary details and events from the early '70s. I thought that was as good a quote as any to illustrate my point ...
