I was telling my daughter how to do something on her laptop recently

I said "...now press RETURN". She looked blankly at me. "Press RETURN", I said. She said "What?". I sighed and pressed it for her. "Oh, you meant ENTER", she said, "what was that RETURN stuff about?".

I said "next you'll be telling me you don't understand 'FFS'" and she said "no it's OK Dad, that I do get. But why did you call it RETURN?".
