If we're talking about best all-round pound-for-pound footballer, I still think McVeigh would edge it.

Safri is exceptional in his position, but I don't think it's technically as challenging as McVeigh's role. Safri tends to get alot of time on the ball, rarely is he forced to play one touch, and he often receives the ball at an easily controllable pace and therefore his job isn't too difficult. His low centre of gravity is perfect for his position, in order to quickly adjust his position to nick the ball/intercept/tackle.

McVeigh has to control all sorts of weights of pass, and not always with his feet. His touch is exceptional and has good vision for someone who is given limited time on the ball. Also I think his work-rate is overlooked. He does alot of donkey-work like Leon, but perhaps because he's so small people don't see it!

Drury is very good defensively, but he has limited passing ability (it's often a ball down the line or a cross). Doesn't give enough going forward.
