I think there's a difference between being

unprofessional and having an undercurrent of knowing you're a "reserve" and a "Capital One Cup player" making it harder to get yourself up for it.

They're only human after all. Most of them have played Premier League football and/or international football. Yet they can't get in a Champ team and probably thought deep down that no matter how well they played last night they would probably not be selected to start on Saturday at Blackpool.
