The way you talk about the recent past with such bitterness, what-ifs and maybes is such a waste of energy. No amount of self-flagellation will change things. Our relegation was inevitable at some stage, whether it was last season, this season or in ten years time.
Look at Fulham. Was that a needless and avoidable relegation? It's all part of the cyclical nature of football. It happens.
Oh, and I t's not about people putting positive spins on last season. I was as pissed off as the next person with our anti-football approach to the Prem. Yes Hughton should have gone sooner. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. The QPR thing the other day was a thing of the moment where I wondered who'd conceded four goals quicker at OT. No deeper meaning, no under-lying agenda. It was a bit of fun.
That's what football should be. Fun. Whatever division you're in. I have the fun back of going to CR, and following our progress in the Championship. That's what makes me look forward to the possibilities, not looking back with resentment.
