Good article by Matthew Parris in the Spectator saying this (but in a more measured way)

All these rallies in London and English people being asked to show their love for the union etc.

Why should we beg Scotland to stay? If they want to go, that's up to them. It's a free country. I don't want to make them stay if they don't want to.

Scotland will still be there. Just North of Cumbria and Northumberland I believe.
