- No will win (80% chance based on recent polls)
- Parliament will balk at the "deal" Brown "brokered"
- England will be seen to have reneged
- SNP will sweep Scotland in May 2015
- There will be another referendum
- Regardless of the result (much more likely to be yes this time) the pressure for a more devolved, federal structure across the whole UK will become overwhelming (Uni fees, prescriptions etc all free in the devolved nations; Barnett formula; etc)
- Over time richer regions such as London will balk at having to pay more in taxes to support poorer parts of the federation like Cornwall
- Cohesion will continue to be eroded over the next few decades, and divisions between regions of the federation will become more entrenched and sharper
- I will die of old age unless something else gets me first
- But my kids will have to live in a much less pleasant country than I've done.
There's a cheery thought. I'd best get back to watching the ghouls again to cheer myself up.
