See, eg, those Xmas savings schemes that go pop from time to time, or people being unable to spend their gift vouchers when a big store goes under, where consumers lose actual money that they paid in, rather than just losing out on a promise of a gift back.

(Although you could be right, I try to steer away from consumer facing work if I can help it)
