It is in part to do with the desensitization of my generation

we grew up with porn becoming freely available on the internet so there is a theory that suggests if you look at something enough then you become so used to it that it doesn't turn you on anymore. This is also coupled with people having sex from a younger age. I think this has probably combined to create a generation of men who want to push the sexual envelope.

The other theory that is that sex is a lot more openly talked about these days by generations younger than yourself and people are more open and honest about what they prefer or simply like. This was brought about by the internet too but also sexual education improving in schools.

I personally think it is a combination of the two having discussed this kind of thing at length before with friends.
