there's an opportunity here, with the qualification pressure eased, to really work on the team over the next couple of years, try and develop some sort of plan/philosophy/formation together. it might not be enough to win, but it would be nice to go into a tournament with some sort of coherence and put others on the back foot a bit. whether hodgsons the guy to do that or not i dont know
