I think it helps appeal to a younger audience

teenagers and young adults often need competition to stimulate them. I have turned numerous simple English classes into competitions to get better results. Millions of youngsters don't know how to cook/bake or are bored at the thought of it and the national broadcaster is helping to inspire them. Can't see how it compares to w**king or wiping your arse TBH unless you really struggle with those skills.
