Exactly - follow the German model and lower ticket prices.

Football clubs don't earn that much in the grand scheme of global businesses.

I don't begrudge players getting what they are paid if the clubs can afford it - they are the ones that largely drive the success of the club's earning potential through exploits on the pitch. It makes sense that you spend a significant proportion of your income on them. Compared to top US sportsmen, businessmen/bankers, F1 drivers etc they are still generally lower paid.
