You're right, they wouldn't, unless

fans actually kicked up a bloody great fuss; they take what they can get away with (as do most people). It's odd though isn't it, in a world in which you can't move for people complaining about inequality and overpayment, that the position is so meekly accepted. Why doesn't the Sun start a nice little campaign ... things would soon change ...
