why is there not more anger about it?

People go to matches week after week after week, paying large sums (especially as a proportion of most peoples' wages) to fund players being paid grotesque salaries, and nobody really says a word about it. Bankers etc, we all jump up and down and wring our hands; footballers, we have a collective loss of common sense. Pay them less; charge us less.
