We had slugs recently - the best way to get rid of them is...

They tend to come out when it's dark and quiet.

Turn the kitchen light off and go out of the room. Wait five minutes or so - turn the light back on and if you don't see them switch it back off and wait again for another few minutes.

Keep repeating this until you surprise one of them when it's just come out. Then keep shining a strong torch on it and it will quickly turn around and go back the way it came. This will show you where they are coming in.

They can get in through very small gaps - you'll obviously need to fill them in.
